The Community – Institutional Educational Experience: “On the Wings of a Hummingbird”, begins on February 6, 2018 and is a space for Sociocultural Transformation with the active participation of children, adolescents and young people with intellectual disabilities and other problems social.

Proposal that focuses on defending and making visible the rights of girls, boys and adolescents with other capacities and social problems, an activity of interrelation between parents, teachers and other community actors in pursuit of comprehensive training and development of new experiences for equality, NON-discrimination and a better society through art and a totally inclusive and equitable perspective for students.

Located in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood and with the management of the AfroatenAs Project, it tries to:

OG: Contribute to children, adolescents and young people with special educational needs to achieve their personal independence and inclusion in society, based on a comprehensive development program with sociocultural intervention in the prioritized centers of Franklin Gómez de la Source and EFI Antonio Guiteras from the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood.

SO 1: Strengthen the preparation of the subjects, the selection of methods and the procedures that allow gradually orienting and activating psycho-motor-cognitive-social independence from appropriate sociocultural activities in the educational process.

SO 2: Promote articulation between the different actors involved in the students’ psycho-motor-cognitive-social development.

SO 3: Contribute to the improvement of the infrastructure of the spaces that influence the teaching of students.

SO 4: Develop a participatory sustainability continuity program for students after leaving school.
